TRAVELERS — master script (English narration)

A bounded, honest science film. Human journey is the hero. Empathy-first. Every number traces to lab/evidence/. Nothing is called "proven." Voiced in English; captioned in Marathi (MASTER_SCRIPT_MR.md). Each scene = one graphic (SVG) + one narration beat; scene duration = narration clip duration. Graphic cues name the SVG to render in lab/film/svg/.

COLD OPEN — "What we carry" (empathy)

[OPEN-1 | title_card] Life is made of travelers. We did not create the world we move through, and we do not fully understand it.

[OPEN-2 | priors] Every one of us arrived here and started learning. Some of what we learned was love. Some of it was fear — separation, struggle, systems that broke their promises. Those lessons become priors: the quiet expectations we use to read the world.

[OPEN-3 | priors] A prior is not a flaw. It is how a mind survives. But a prior set by hurt can make us certain too early — sure of an answer before we have looked.

[OPEN-4 | title_card] This film is about looking. About one big, hopeful idea, and the gentle, stubborn discipline we use to test any idea fairly — including our own.

ACT 1 — "The Traveler" (the dream, honored)

[A1-1 | dreamer] It begins, as these things often do, with a curious person and a question too big to ignore. Why do worlds hold the things they hold? Why does the sky protect us? What is life, really?

[A1-2 | dreamer] Out of that wondering came a bold proposal — that the ozone in our sky is not just a filter but something close to the source of life itself; that the weight we feel might come not from mass, but from the press of the air; that the planets move like a great machine.

[A1-3 | claim_cards] These are extraordinary claims. And extraordinary claims are not the enemy. They are invitations. The question is never "who dares to ask" — it is "what would have to be true, and how would we know."

[A1-4 | dreamer] So we honor the dream by doing the hardest, kindest thing we can for it: we test it, honestly, all the way down.

ACT 2 — "The Question" (the discipline)

[A2-1 | evidence_legend] To test fairly, we need a shared language for how sure we are. We use six honest labels — from "established" to "contradicted" — and we attach one to every claim. No claim gets to skip the line.

[A2-2 | evidence_legend] And we hold one rule above the rest: the math is allowed to say "no." A test that can only ever agree with us is not a test. We build ours so they can break.

[A2-3 | model_compare] We line up the competing explanations side by side — the established one, the new one, an honest middle, and plain coincidence — and we ask each the same questions. Does it predict? Does it work on cases it never saw? What would prove it wrong?

[A2-4 | evidence_legend] This is not coldness. It is respect. We owe a real idea a real test.

ACT 3 — "The Sky's Shield" (ozone: what survives, what doesn't)

[A3-1 | ozone_beer_lambert] Start with the sky. Is ozone a shield? Here the evidence is strong. High in the atmosphere, ozone absorbs the Sun's most damaging ultraviolet light.

[A3-2 | ozone_beer_lambert] We can put a number on it. Through the Earth's ozone column, the optical depth at the ultraviolet-C peak is about eighty-nine. That means the fraction of that radiation reaching the ground is smaller than one in a thousand billion billion billion. The shield is real. Supported — Class B.

[A3-3 | ozone_decompose] But "ozone is a shield" is not the same claim as "ozone is life." So we separate the readings, and we test each one.

[A3-4 | ozone_decompose] Is ozone literally life? No. Ozone is made without life — it drifts in the dead skies of Venus and Mars. A shield is not a soul. That reading is contradicted.

[A3-5 | ozone_decompose] Is ozone necessary for all life? No. Life thrived on Earth for over a billion years before the oxygen — and the ozone — even existed. Contradicted, gently and completely, by our own planet's history.

[A3-6 | ozone_decompose] What survives is the true and beautiful part: ozone shields the life that is here now. One reading stands, in its narrowed form. The grander ones do not.

ACT 4 — "The Weight of Worlds" (pressure vs gravity)

[A4-1 | bodies_table] Now the boldest claim: that the weight we feel is the press of the air, not the pull of mass. This one we can test across seven worlds, with public numbers.

[A4-2 | pressure_gravity] We take the simplest honest form — weight is proportional to pressure — and we tune it on Earth alone. Then we ask it to predict everywhere else, with no second chances.

[A4-3 | pressure_gravity] It fails. On Venus, ninety-one times Earth's pressure, it predicts a crushing gravity — and Venus's gravity is actually a little less than Earth's.

[A4-4 | pressure_gravity] On Titan, a thicker atmosphere than Earth's — yet the lowest gravity of them all, about one-seventh of ours. The pressure idea points the wrong way entirely.

[A4-5 | pressure_gravity] And on the Moon and Mercury — almost no air at all — the weight is still there. If pressure made weight, the airless worlds would let go. They do not.

[A4-6 | bodies_table] Meanwhile the old, unglamorous law — gravity from mass and radius — reproduces every one of the seven worlds to within about a third of a percent. The pressure idea misses by up to fourteen orders of magnitude. Contradicted by the test. The verdict is not cruel; it is just clear.

ACT 5 — "The Honest Gift" (meaning)

[A5-1 | what_survived] So what are we left with? Less than the dream hoped, and something sturdier than the dream knew. Ozone shields us — true. Gravity comes from mass — true. The proton gradients that power our cells are real and astonishing — true. Oxygen is not life itself, and life does not require it — also true.

[A5-2 | what_survived] The big unifying claims did not survive. And the person who dared them is not diminished by that. The courage to ask is what built the test in the first place.

[A5-3 | priors] Remember the priors we started with — the certainty that hurt can plant in us. The discipline in this film is the same discipline a life needs: to hold a belief gently enough that evidence can move it. To let the world answer.

[A5-4 | title_card] That is the honest gift. Not a theory that explains everything, but a way of seeing that lets us be wrong without being ashamed — clean up the spill, take a new sample, and look again. People must see to learn, and learn to see.

[A5-5 | credits] Every number in this film was recomputed from public sources and checked against the code that drew these pictures. Nothing here is called "proven." That restraint is not weakness. It is the whole point.
