UNI Universal Natural Intelligence

The hallway

One door per project. What it is, what state it is honestly in, what it is written in, and the commit every number beside it was read from.

Read this first. The estate once described itself as a running instrument with thirteen rooms and no corridor. This is the corridor. Two kinds of statement sit on every door and they are drawn differently on purpose: the measurements — files, languages, uncommitted work, distance from the remote — were read out of the repository at the commit shown. The maturityword is a person’s judgement, because no program can measure whether a thing is finished, and it is labelled declared wherever it appears. Nothing on this page is live; it is a static export.

Teaching

Where the ideas are explained and can be practised.

The ORCHESTRATE Active Inference Workbench

built declared, not measured

A pedagogical BEAM-native active-inference workbench: discrete-time POMDP with mean-field variational message passing and an expected-free-energy-weighted policy posterior, plus a 10-chapter curriculum, a visual model builder, and browser learning labs.

It is the teaching faculty. It already holds a working model builder, a four-level learning ladder and a runnable cookbook — the University links to it rather than rebuilding it.

The UNI Encyclopedia & Cookbook

built declared, not measured

An encyclopedia and a literal cookbook of buildable recipes across a developmental ladder, governed by two sovereign ledgers that never let a nature citation count as a UNI result.

Its two-ledger discipline is the honesty model the whole University adopts: what UNI has earned and what nature has shown are different registers and are never merged.

The UNI Encyclopedia & Cookbook @ 575fc93d9d31 (main) — the working repository is private. A redacted live mirror of it is public, updated 2026-08-24: it tracks this repository by promotion, one commit per promotion, each recording the private commit it came from, and every promotion is merged by a person through a pull request. This door opens on the tree promoted from 575fc93d9d31 — the same commit the figures above were read at, so what you open is what this page was built from. (mirror state measured 2026-08-24)

The UNI Campus — universalnaturalintelligence.com

running declared, not measured

The public front door of the estate: the Precision, Echo, Loop, Heart and Cell labs, the Sensorium, Gentle Entry, a history of inference, and the published Cookbook — in ten languages.

It is where a visitor first touches the mathematics — a lab in the browser within a minute, no install, no account — and every deeper door on this site leads back to code.

Serving at https://universalnaturalintelligence.com/ — a declared destination, not a probe. This static page cannot honestly claim what is answering right now.

The Bayes Museum — 50 exhibits

built declared, not measured

Fifty small exhibits of Bayesian reasoning in everyday clothes — weather, health, security, science — each one a single idea a visitor can hold.

It is the breadth wing of the teaching faculty: where the labs go deep on one model, the museum goes wide across fifty. It has no public repository yet, and this door says so rather than hiding it.

Science

Where a claim meets a real measured organism.

UNI-FLAGELLUM — the science instrument

built declared, not measured

A CPU-only digital-organ laboratory that keeps a bacterial flagellar-motor world process strictly separate from the active-inference agent that models it.

It is where a claim meets a real measured organism, and where the estate keeps a result that went against it in plain view.

Worlds

Where agents are given a body and somewhere to live.

UNI.MineCraft — the colony

running declared, not measured

A pure-Elixir categorical active-inference colony: embodied agents living in a real Minecraft world, each running one mean-field predict-act tick as its life, with a broadcast platform built over it.

It is the world where the agents actually live, and the home of the Function Designer Card that compiles a declarative model description into a runnable brain.

Instruments

The tools that stop the rest of it overclaiming.

UNI.Public — the documentation estate

running declared, not measured

The public technical documentation of the estate, where every volatile number is generated from the repository it describes and carries the commit it was read from.

It is the shell this University is built into, and the reason every number on these pages can be traced rather than trusted.

What the maturity words mean

running
a process answers on a port, or a deployed URL responds, right now
built
code exists and runs when started; nothing is answering at read time
design-only
specified in documents; the code does not exist yet
contradicted
was tried and the evidence went against it — kept visible on purpose
archived
superseded or duplicated by another entry; retained for history
