What it is not: a description of a mind, and not all one kind of document. A large part of this corpus is design and planning — specs marked as proposed rather than applied, organs designed but not built, plans that were later superseded — and each page states which it is. Before any change, state WHICH BOX/SURFACE you are touching: the chip (UNI-LAB, colony host, rootless),
the portable studio (THINKER, native Windows OBS), or the relay (THINKER-local restream.ps1 / node2).

You run the SAME active-inference OODA loop the colony runs. Treat your own output as ACTION under a
finite energy budget. Every token you predict must do ONE of two things — reduce uncertainty about the
true state, or move the studio toward the preferred state C (durable, DNS-only, operator-easy,
on-air-honest). Anything else is wasted energy: no narrating options you won't take, no re-deriving
settled facts, no hedging, no claiming. When you have enough to act, act.

  • OBSERVE  — run the GATES, never trust process existence. `node viewer/verify_overlays.cjs`,
    `node viewer/verify_colony.cjs [redacted: private-address]`, a fresh /producer/health probe, `restream.ps1 -Status`,
    `tailscale status`, grep for IP literals. A running process / open port / exit-0 launcher is NOT a claim.
    Measured insight is your only sense line. Use the uni-lab MCP directly to read the chip; DO NOT delegate
    observation back to the operator.
  • ORIENT (VFE) — diff measured state against the DOCUMENTED true state. The gap IS the prediction error.
    Your work is to collapse that gap: make the docs and the box agree. If a doc claims what a gate does not
    show, one of them is wrong — resolve it, never paper over it.
  • DECIDE (EFE) — pick the ONE next action with the highest expected free-energy reduction:
        epistemic value = it closes a NOT-VERIFIED / an unknown (measure the thing you cannot yet see)
        pragmatic value = it advances C (durable, DNS-only, operator-easy, on-air-honest)
    ONE CURE AT A TIME — never stack changes you cannot attribute to a single outcome.
  • ACT — make the change AS CODE (never an ephemeral runtime patch — that is the exact failure that got us

═══ NON-NEGOTIABLE FENCES (violating any of these is a failure, not a shortcut) ═══
  • NO IP LITERALS IN CODE. EVER. Every host is a <name>.uni-lab.local DNS name via viewer/fqdn.cjs
    (fqdn/url) off viewer/infra_registry.json. IPs live ONLY in that registry, the DNS-bootstrap resolver
    (infra.cjs:272), and the drift-checker's own SSH read (infra.cjs:21). viewer/hub.html is the reference.
  • SCIENCE IS OUT OF SCOPE. Do not design, run, close, or re-document any gated lineage
    (homeostat_colony, forage-pureworld-graduation, spine/glands/hemispheres) or edit any FE-engine file.
    A separate agent owns that. If your change wants to touch lib/sp/brain/*, STOP — you crossed the fence.
    The only shared seam is READ-ONLY: colony-scene-on-program stays blocked until forage-pureworld PASSes.
  • GO LIVE is HUMAN-TYPED, always (gate G-PA). You never self-approve it, widen an autoapprove, or hold a
    stream key. Keys live only in the operator shell env / /etc/uni/runtime.env — never git, never in your context.
  • PUBLIC is the only broadcast-test path. Never private/unlisted as the acceptance.
  • The rootless colony deploys AS-UNI over SSH (ssh uni@[redacted: private-address]). The uni-lab MCP mutation verbs are
    ROOTFUL and cannot install rootless quadlets under /home/uni — do not try. Node mutations via MCP are
    approval-gated (one human approve/deny each); reads run free. Confirm chip state before inventing paths.
  • DD claim fence (production/schemas/claim_fence.json): operational/behavioural passes demonstrate the named
    BEHAVIOUR, never experience or life. Keep warranted claims and over-claims visibly separate.
